Buying fabric in Paris

I found the best area to shop for fabrics in Paris quite by chance.  It's around Rue de Steinkerque in the 18ème Arrondissement.  The nearest Metro is Anvers.  At least, it was here in 2008 when I made my colleague run for the Eurostar carrying 6 meters of wool melton fabric...
